What's going on in the ladies' section? There are no results to report this week as it was social golf only last Wednesday due to the continuing course maintenance. It was social golf again on Wednesday, 16 September and then we will be back to Stableford competitions after that date. On Wednesday, 30 September, there will be an 18 and 9-hole Stableford competition which will be played in honour of Pam Large. There will be an entry fee of £2.50 and all proceeds will be donated to the Golf Foundation, which promotes changing the lives of young people using the power of golf. It is hoped this event will be well supported in memory of a very special lady. There will be more details of this event to follow in next week’s newsletter. There will also be an 18-hole Stableford on Saturday, 3 October in memory of Pam with the same entry fee. The ladies are intending to hold a Fun Competition on Wednesday, 7 October. This will be played in fourballs with the best two scores to count. More details to follow over the next couple of weeks. Winter League Bowl: Entry has opened for the Winter League Bowl and will close on Wednesday, 30 September. This is a great opportunity to enter a Trophy Competition in 2020 as so many have had to be cancelled this year. For the benefit of the newer members, the Winter League Bowl is a 9-hole matchplay competition, played on the back 9 (holes 10 - 18). A random draw will be made at the start of October to divide entrants into four groups. The first group stage will be played on a 'round robin' basis and will be the first real opportunity to integrate with the Club's newer members, so please sign up! Entry to be made in the Pro Shop. |
