Now that we've made our way into July, we hope you'll be able to enjoy even more golf during the week and on weekends. As always, if you'd like to ask us anything or get in touch, send us a message here. This Saturday, we welcome Sam back to work in the pro shop on a part furlough basis and we will be opening the teaching and fitting studio now that the 2-metre rule has been relaxed. We will, however, be asking people to sanitise their hands on entry and will be keeping to the 1-metre distancing rules. With the clubhouse opening, we are taking more steps towards getting back to normal! Last week on Thursday, 25 June, the first test Stableford was played. It proved a great success with 43 players entering. With the course playing nicely, even in the sweltering conditions and many members have had plenty of practice since the re-opening of the course, it was always going to take a good score to win the competition. Mick Davies was the man of the moment posting 40 points to take the honours. Mick was closely followed by Duncan Syme on 39 points to take second place. Third place went to countback with Andrew Grove beating Alan Oliver, after both scored 37 points. This weekend, we have our second test Stableford competition over both days for ladies and gents. We will also be running the two's competition in conjunction with it. This is sure to attract a large entry. Play well and best of luck to all who enter. Last week I mentioned that I had 48 bunker rakes/ball retrievers arriving the week starting 20th July. There have been quite a few ordered, If you would like me to reserve you one please get in touch before they all go. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of this weeks newsletter. |
