The weekend saw 104 players competing for the RNLI Spoon over Saturday and Sunday, and the course provided a stern test as reflected in the CSS of 72 & 73 respectively for the men and 74 & 75 for the ladies. It was therefore no coincidence that four of the top six sweep places went to single figure handicap players, of which three were category 1. In fact it was two of the category 1 players that battled it out for first place, both scoring 39 points it was down to countback to separate them and it was the in form Eduard Little who took top spot with Shaun Lewis finishing runner-up. In third place with 36 points was Mark Chandler, following Mark were six players on 35 points competing for the three remaining sweep places. After countback Neil Solomon finished in fourth, Andy Hutt in fifth and Andrew Grove in sixth place. |
